This is for women and girls everywhere....

On 25 November, I'm excited to join a powerful journey by taking part in the walk to end violence against women and girls, organised by UN Women Australia. This cause strikes a deep chord with me, shaped not only by my own experiences but also by the remarkable women whose stories I have been honoured to hear.

Every woman deserves to feel safe—whether at home, in school, or while simply walking down the street. Unfortunately, many of us live in a reality where that safety is often elusive. Personal safety and the presumption of credibility should be fundamental rights for everyone, yet for too many women, these rights come with strings attached and daunting challenges.

Throughout my life, I have seen how fear can invade even our most private moments and echo throughout our communities. I've been fortunate to hear the incredible stories of women who have confronted violence and intimidation with breathtaking strength. Yet their experiences are also stark reminders of the challenges we face every day. Systematic barriers can silence these brave voices, leaving many to question their worth and the validity of their experiences.

This walk is not just about the miles we cover; it's about making a statement, standing up against the status quo, and committing to uplift one another. Each step I take represents my pledge to a future where every woman and girl can exist without fear and no one has to bear the burden of disbelief.

I walk not just for myself but for every woman who has ever felt unsafe. For the young girl who is taught to tread carefully through life, for the woman whose truth was dismissed, and for all of us whose right to safety has been challenged. We need to cultivate a society that recognises and protects these fundamental rights.

As I gear up for this important event, I warmly invite you to join me. Whether you walk with me or support this cause in other ways, every bit of involvement counts. Together, we can create an environment where every woman and girl is valued, respected, and fundamentally safe.

Let's come together to challenge the narrative and push for real progress. Together, we can walk for change, march for safety, and strive for a future where every woman and girl can truly thrive.
