“Start expecting better. Rather than using shame as the driver to change men’s behaviour, use positive reinforcing language — we are better than this, and we expect better.”
- Tarang Chawla

Every dollar you raise contributes to life-saving initiatives that help ensure every woman and girl can live free from violence - Safe. Everywhere. Always.

Over $500k has been raised through Safe. Everywhere. Always. since 2023. We couldn't do it without a community of passionate people like the Tummers Family 💗

Our family choose to take part in the Safe. Everywhere. Always. challenge because we believe gender-based violence is not a women’s issue, it’s everyone’s issue, women’s rights are human rights, and all women have the right to be safe, everywhere, always. It can be difficult to know what to do and where to start, but by speaking up, we can raise awareness of gender-based violence and challenge the narrative, we can recognise, remember, and share the stories of those we’ve lost to gender-based violence, we can raise funds for important initiatives including the UN Women’s Initiative to prevent and respond to gender-based violence globally, and we can check in on the women around us.

Do I have to walk to participate?

Absolutely not. We realise walking may not be for everyone and we encourage you to take part in the challenge and log your KMs any way you are able to.

Try running, cycling, rollerblading or the step machine at the gym! The possibilities are endless 😉

Where do the funds I raise go?

All funds raised through the Challenge are donated to UN Women Australia, which supports our advocacy efforts both here in Australia and globally through the UN Trust Fund to End Violence Against Women.

In 2023, more than 47 million people benefited from UN Trust Fund activities aimed at preventing and responding to ending violence against women and girls, with over 140 global initiatives launched to support women’s rights organisations and over 5 million women, including survivors of violence and refugees, receiving support through the programs.
