This is for women and girls everywhere....

Hi family and friends, from November 25th, I’m going to be walking for a cause that is close to my heart.

Every woman and girl around the world, deserves to feel Safe. Everywhere. Always. – at home, at the gym, even online - and that is why I’m joining UN Women Australia in the walk to end violence against women and girls.

Help me reach my fundraising goal and we can help to build a better future for women and girls around the world.

Wednesday 26th Nov
Yesterday was Day One of 16 Days of Activism!

My first walk yesterday I thought 'd head to Spotlight to pick up some tote bags for Share the Dignity's "It's in the bag" drive. Literally no further than 200 meters from Spotlight I stacked it in a pile of glass- I was so close!! 4.3km without an incident and I had to tumble so so close to my end goal! I've got a pretty impressive scrape-job though!

Today I went for an easy stroll with my partner around Gerringong. 2.5km felt like 50km with all of the hills! If my calves weren't so sore I absolutely would have walked a while longer- it's such a beautiful day! Kind of scorching though, so grateful for sunscreen and my hat!

The Challenge Begins!

Monday 24th Nov
Tomorrow is the start of 16 Days of Activism where I will be walking 60km from the 25/11 to the 10/12!

Why Walk? (TW: Gender-based Violence Statistics)

Thursday 30th Oct
Australia is experiencing an epidemic of gender-based violence.

In 2023-24 an average of one woman was killed every week by an intimate partner.

1 in 3 women experience violence in their lifetime.

Every 10 minutes a woman or girl is killed by someone close to them.

By fundraising and continuing to increase awareness surrounding this epidemic, we can help prevent further deaths. Know the signs, identify the signs, and act accordingly.

Together, we can create a safer Australia for everyone.
