This is for women and girls everywhere....

Hi family and friends, from November 25th, I’m going to be walking for a cause that is close to my heart.

Every woman and girl around the world, deserves to feel Safe. Everywhere. Always. – at home, at the gym, even online - and that is why I’m joining UN Women Australia in the walk to end violence against women and girls.

Help me reach my fundraising goal and we can help to build a better future for women and girls around the world.

Dedication

Tuesday 25th Nov
For my walk to end violence against women, four young women from Melbourne come to mind, and I will dedicate these fifteen days to them.

- Aya Maasarwe. A 21 year old exchange student whose death was too brutal to have the details reported on. She was on the phone to her sister when she was attacked and killed by a man.

- Eurydice Dixon. A 22 year old comedian who was stalked, strangled, and raped by a man on her way home from a gig, after texting that she was almost home safely.

- Isla Bell. A 19 year old girl who went missing, who I helped search for. A friend of a friend. She was kept in a fridge and then found in a rubbish tip six weeks after she was reported missing.

- My dear friend Masa Vukotic. She was 17, out for an evening walk when she was attacked by a stranger. Stabbed 49 times in the throat. Her killer was out on parole and went on to rape a woman after killing Masa. I had spoken to her only hours before she died. She was wearing headphones on her walk and the victim blaming was rife. For this reason I will be wearing headphones for all of my walks.

Globally, in 2024, around 50,000 women and girls worldwide were killed by their intimate partners or other family members. That’s just murder, not non fatal domestic violence, random violence, verbal abuse, sexual abuse, harassment, trans based violence, etc. This must stop.

Please donate if you can, or walk if you can. Have conversations. Donate to women’s shelters. Pull up men on their sexism. Look after each

Please donate.
