This is for women and girls everywhere....

Hi family and friends, from November 25th, I’m going to be walking for a cause that is close to my heart. 

Every woman and girl around the world, deserves to feel Safe. Everywhere. Always. – at home, at the gym, even online - and that is why I’m joining UN Women Australia in the walk to end violence against women and girls.

Help me reach my fundraising goal and we can help to build a better future for women and girls around the world.

Wednesday 26th Nov
I ventured out of the house to the GP for a post surgery check up, but then had to take Theo to the gp after school, so I got a double whammy of steps. Very… slow… steps! 

Thank you everyone who has donated to this cause, which is compounded exponentially when you look at it globally. Horrifically, a woman or girl is killed every 11 minutes in her home by her family. While I sit and type this on my phone, pondering the words, another woman or girl is lost, which is a devastating thought. 

Your support is helping provide safe places, education, reproductive autonomy and some basic tools and equipment to support safety. We have  long way to go, yet it’s 2025.

I’ll keep on stepping with hope. 


Pre-challenge progress

Saturday 22nd Nov
In the lead up to the challenge, I’m able to take short, slow walks of 20 minutes or so, followed by lying down to take the pressure off my spine.  It’s riveting stuff - some of my tracked walks are 400m, but on a good day I can knock out 1.2km. 

MORE IMPORTANTLY: your generosity has helped me raise enough money to support three women survivors of sexual violence with medical support in a camp for internally displaced people in Nigeria.
